Tasks of the Position
Maintain safety Compliance in Ohio, Alabama, and Indian through the prevention of incidents, timely incident investigations and appropriate safety programs.
Communicate both verbally and written with all levels within the organization including team leaders, supervisors, and management about safety concerns and problems for immediate resolution.
Investigate accidents to identify causes and implement proper safety techniques for prevention of future incidents.
Coordinate safety reviews involving associate input, hazard recognition, and injury prevention throughout the production and office environments.
Conduct job hazard analysis on production processes and utilize safety principles to prevent injuries and provide recommendations.
Work with engineering, production, and quality to make safety improvements and recommendations to production processes.
Inspect processes and equipment for safety efficiency and proper safeguards to prevent injuries and illnesses.
Identify any hazards posing immediate harm to associates and impose a stop work initiative.
Safety inspections of production, office, and shipping areas to ensure the presence of fire prevention equipment, safety equipment, and first-aid supplies.
Document safety findings, near misses, injuries & illness, forklift incidents, return to work, and restricted work in a format that allows for data gathering and utilization for preventative measures and tracking.
Lead the Safety Committee and coordinate and attend monthly safety meetings, as appropriate.
Provide safety statistics and generate daily, weekly, and monthly safety reports.
Oversee the safety audit program by organizing, implementing and performing preventative safety audits for compliance.
Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly Environmental compliance (ISO 14001).
Maintain OSHA 300 logs, Safety Data Sheets, and other regulatory compliance programs for regulatory compliance.
Conduct safety training and education programs as needed with associates to increase knowledge and maintain regulatory compliance
Maintain certification records for first responders, powered industrial trucks, procedures, visuals, processes and equipment to meet regulatory requirements.
Provide safety training to all levels of the organization as required and outlined within the training Matrix
Maintain appropriate levels of Personal Protection Equipment.
Safety apparel (PPE) and uniform mandatory.
Participate in activities to include 5S, Kaizen, Quick Hits, Six Sigma, and other related continuous improvement events.
This position requires frequent movement within a production environment, standing, and observing of production processes.
Travel as needed to Alabama, and Indiana.
Job Requirements

Must be able to continuously lift 30 to 75 lbs and occasionally carry a distance of 30 to 50 ft
Tasks that require continuous reaching, kneeling, grasping, twisting, bending, leaning and extension of the upper body
Must be eligible to obtain a forklift license
Work daily assigned shift to include overtime, up to and including production Saturdays, shutdown days, and holidays as needed
Education
4-year degree in Safety, Environmental, or Health; or 4-year degree with 1 year of previous experience in manufacturing safety or related.
Open to internal training and development leadership program.
Interpersonal skills and developing relationships.
Planning and prioritization are a must.
