Work across departments to evaluate new safety improvements to control hazards caused by physical or ergonomic factors.


Tasks of the Position

  • Maintain safety Compliance in Ohio, Alabama, and Indian through the prevention of incidents, timely incident investigations and appropriate safety programs.

  • Communicate both verbally and written with all levels within the organization including team leaders, supervisors, and management about safety concerns and problems for immediate resolution.

  • Investigate accidents to identify causes and implement proper safety techniques for prevention of future incidents.

  • Coordinate safety reviews involving associate input, hazard recognition, and injury prevention throughout the production and office environments.

  • Conduct job hazard analysis on production processes and utilize safety principles to prevent injuries and provide recommendations.

  • Work with engineering, production, and quality to make safety improvements and recommendations to production processes.

  • Inspect processes and equipment for safety efficiency and proper safeguards to prevent injuries and illnesses.

  • Identify any hazards posing immediate harm to associates and impose a stop work initiative.

  • Safety inspections of production, office, and shipping areas to ensure the presence of fire prevention equipment, safety equipment, and first-aid supplies.

  • Document safety findings, near misses, injuries & illness, forklift incidents, return to work, and restricted work in a format that allows for data gathering and utilization for preventative measures and tracking.

  • Lead the Safety Committee and coordinate and attend monthly safety meetings, as appropriate.

  • Provide safety statistics and generate daily, weekly, and monthly safety reports.

  • Oversee the safety audit program by organizing, implementing and performing preventative safety audits for compliance.

  • Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly Environmental compliance (ISO 14001).

  • Maintain OSHA 300 logs, Safety Data Sheets, and other regulatory compliance programs for regulatory compliance.

  • Conduct safety training and education programs as needed with associates to increase knowledge and maintain regulatory compliance

  • Maintain certification records for first responders, powered industrial trucks, procedures, visuals, processes and equipment to meet regulatory requirements.

  • Provide safety training to all levels of the organization as required and outlined within the training Matrix

  • Maintain appropriate levels of Personal Protection Equipment.

  • Safety apparel (PPE) and uniform mandatory.

  • Participate in activities to include 5S, Kaizen, Quick Hits, Six Sigma, and other related continuous improvement events.

  • This position requires frequent movement within a production environment, standing, and observing of production processes.

  • Travel as needed to Alabama, and Indiana.


Qualifications

  • 4-year degree in Safety, Environmental, or Health; or 4-year degree with 1 year of previous experience in manufacturing safety or related.

Introduction

CBI is currently looking for a 2nd Shift Production Supervisor at a tier one Honda supplier in East Liberty, OH.


This position is a direct hire with the client company.


Schedule

  • Monday - Friday 4:00 PM - 1:00 AM with overtime required. Saturdays as scheduled.


Compensation

  • This position has a base salary of $58,000 annually with additional compensation after 45 hours within a given work week.


Description

  • Responsible for production operations while supporting quality and materials through the achievement of SQCDM and ensuring that the core values and policies of the company are maintained without compromise.


Tasks of the Position

  • Support Health and Safety efforts to promote zero tolerance for unsafe acts and conditions.

  • Provide clear direction and establish accountability.

  • Promote a team environment to supervise all aspects of production operations in the achievement of plant goals.

  • Develop Team Leaders and associates through training and guidance.

  • Maintain communication and continuity among production operations.

  • Utilize Lean principles to develop and implement countermeasures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of products and services.

  • Achieve daily OEE goals and meet or exceed QOS performance goals via efficient manpower utilization.

  • Maintain accurate and timely production records.

  • Maintain daily attendance records using the current payroll vendor.

  • Provide scheduled performance reviews.

  • Provide Human Resources with written documentation for disciplinary action.

  • Capable and willing to perform mechanical mounting of assembly process equipment and material handling equipment.

  • Provides input into the design of our assembly equipment and processes.

  • Actively participate and support the Continuous Improvement, Cost Reduction, and Associate Involvement processes.

  • Provide technical expertise and leadership for the timely resolution of manufacturing process and product design problems. Serve as a resource for cause/effect analyses, investigations, statistical studies, and problem-solving analyses.

  • Integrate closely with customer,  maintenance, and quality teams to maximize product quality, production output, and schedule compliance.

  • Maintain product quality and manufacturing effectiveness through daily troubleshooting and resolution of process difficulties.

  • Willingness to learn, troubleshoot, and support issues with the line control system.

  • Optimize manufacturing processes to provide sustainable gains in cost-effectiveness and product performance through statistical analysis,  designed experiments, and procedural changes. In support of production and new model activities.

  • Participate in multi-functional teams  (production staff, New Model, R&D) to resolve problems and develop new production processes.

  • Start up new products and equipment  (supervise installation, troubleshoot initial production processes, and ensure new products meet requirements, document, and transfer to  Production).

  • Participate in activities to include 5S, Kaizen, Quick Hits, Six Sigma, and other related continuous improvement events.

  • Develop and Implement the latest state-of-the-art technologies to improve profitability and health, safety, and quality

  • Other duties as assigned.


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Strongly desire a candidate with Allen Bradley PLC programming knowledge.

  • Capable of troubleshooting and quickly resolving Electrical & Mechanical issues involving our production and new model equipment and processes.

  • Knowledge of torque and scanning systems a plus

  • Technical know-how and ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Possesses and applies considerable knowledge of Engineering principles, practices, and procedures.

  • Knowledge  of computer systems, Spreadsheet software, and Word processing software,  familiar with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Good working knowledge of manufacturing processes.

  • Ability to communicate with station operators and upper management personnel.


Job Requirements

  • Safety apparel (PPE) and uniforms are mandatory.

  • Work daily assigned shifts to include overtime, up to and including production Saturdays, shutdown days, and holidays as needed.

  • Perform job requirements of a Production Associate as needed.

  • Tasks that require continuous reaching, kneeling, grasping, twisting, bending, leaning, and extension of the upper body.

  • Follow all company policies, including ISO 9001 2008/ISO 14000 and QOS  adherence (where applicable), as well as the company associate handbook and safety manual.


Minimum Education/Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Systems Engineering.

  • 2-3 years prior manufacturing engineering work experience

  • Experience in preparing investment proposals, job quoting, cost justifications, and capital planning is preferred.
