  • Provide technical expertise and leadership for the timely resolution of manufacturing process and product design problems. Serve as a resource for cause/effect analyses, investigations, statistical studies, and problem-solving analysis.

  • Integrate closely with the customer, maintenance, and GLA quality team to maximize product quality, production output, and schedule compliance.

  • Maintain product quality, and manufacturing effectiveness through daily troubleshooting and resolution of process difficulties.

Purchasing Specialist

Description

Assist with the development and support of new and existing equipment and processes. Optimize process flow using Lean Manufacturing and apply engineering principles, practices, and procedures in a high-volume automotive parts manufacturing environment.

​

Tasks of the Position

  • Provide hands-on mechanical, electrical, and PLC programming support for production equipment and processes.

  • Responsible for PLC support of Allen Bradley PLCs.

  • Capable and willing to perform mechanical mounting of assembly process equipment and material handling equipment.

  • Provide input into the design of our assembly equipment and processes.

  • Actively participate and support the Continuous Improvement, Cost Reduction, and Associate Involvement processes.

  • Provide technical expertise and leadership for the timely resolution of manufacturing process and product design problems. Serve as a resource for cause/effect analyses, investigations, statistical studies, and problem-solving analysis.

  • Integrate closely with the customer, maintenance, and quality team to maximize product quality, production output, and schedule compliance.

  • Maintain product quality and manufacturing effectiveness through daily troubleshooting and resolution of process difficulties.

  • Willingness to learn, troubleshoot, and support issues that occur with the line control system.

  • Optimize manufacturing processes to provide sustainable gains in cost-effectiveness and product performance through statistical analysis, designed experiments, and procedural changes in support of production and New Model activities.

  • Participate in multi-functional teams (production staff, New Model, R&D) to resolve problems and develop new production processes.

  • Supervise the installation of new products and equipment, troubleshoot initial production processes, ensure new products meet requirements, document, and transfer to production.

  • Participate in activities including 5S, Kaizen, Quick Hits, Six Sigma, and other related continuous improvement events.

  • Develop and implement the latest state-of-the-art technologies to improve profitability, health, safety, and quality.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Allen Bradley PLC programming knowledge.

  • Capable of troubleshooting and quickly resolving Electrical & Mechanical issues involving our production and new model equipment and processes.

  • Knowledge of torque and scanning systems is a plus.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Considerable knowledge of engineering principles, practices, and procedures.

  • Knowledge of computer systems, spreadsheet software, and word processing software.

  • Familiar with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Good working knowledge of manufacturing processes.

  • Ability to communicate with station operators and upper management.

Tasks of the Position

  • Oversee all HR activities at a corporate office, holding the department accountable, reviewing, and disciplining as needed.

  • Manage the payroll, benefits, and FMLA functions to ensure implemented appropriately and lawfully.

  • Conduct market surveys on subjects like compensation, benefits, etc.

  • Manage recruitment and hiring activities to ensure salaried positions are fully staffed.

  • Act as a business partner for managers including advising on policy.

  • Conduct investigations.
